MSU Chapter Challenge!

This year, MSU alumni chapters across the U.S. are participating in the Giving Tuesday Chapter Challenge to get the greatest number of gifts for their local scholarship funds. The competition is friendly, and the winners are the students from your area getting the help they need to attend MSU! The competition ends at midnight on 12/3. Make your gift(s) today, tomorrow, and any time before 12/4 to participate.  You’ll be helping your local chapter support ambitious students dreaming of enrolling at Mississippi State.

About Our Chapter

In 1990, the Southeast MS Alumni Chapter of the MSU Alumni Association established the Dr. K. Ramsay O'Neal Scholarship to benefit entering freshman from Forrest and Lamar County, MS. In 2016 the chapter grew to include Perry and Marion County, MS and today is know as the Pine Belt Alumni Chapter. Each year the local alumni association via the MSU Foundation and the O'Neal Scholarship Endowment continues to provide entering freshman scholarships to students across the Pine Belt region.

Dr. O'Neal was a 1938 graduate of Mississippi State University. A pillar of the Hattiesburg community, Dr. O'Neal was a practicing OB-GYN from 1948 to 1986. Dr. O'Neal was instrumental in the organization and establishment of Hattiesburg Clinic. Today, Hattiesburg Clinic is a multi specialty clinic with more than 450 physicians and providers serving 17 counties in Mississippi.

Since its inception the K. Ramsay O'Neal Alumni Scholarship has provided funding to more than 50 area students.
